About The Artist:
Meg Gallagher is a New Zealand-born visual artist who has built a strong reputation over the past decade, first making her mark in the fashion industry before returning to painting as her chosen medium. Growing up in Otago’s rugged landscapes with a father who ran the local art centre, she developed a creative foundation early on and later graduated with first-class honours in Fashion Design. Named One to Watch by Vogue Italia and awarded a scholarship to Milan’s Europeo Instituto de Design, Meg’s career flourished with roles at leading fashion houses including Camilla and Marc, Insight, and Ksubi, where she became an expert in denim design. Today, denim remains central to her practice, as she transforms discarded off-cuts into textured artworks using natural pigments, dyes, and bleach, reflecting both her fashion background and her evolving artistic language.
