Crafted from reclaimed Indonesian teak, aged over centuries, this wood is celebrated for its durability. The repurposing process is intricate, as the wood often arrives at our workshops with original nails and paint still intact. At Kayu Studio, our craftsmen meticulously sort, sand, and rework each piece by hand, preserving its authentic character and unique textures. Each piece tells its own story, showcasing distinctive variations in colour, grain, and texture - ensuring every item is truly one-of-a-kind. These natural differences are expected and enrich the character of each piece

Product Care
All reclaimed teak is pre-treated with Golden Care Teak Shield, which helps protect against spills while preserving the unique character of the wood. To care for your furniture, always use coasters, placemats, and pot holders, and wipe up any spills straight away. Dust regularly with a soft cloth and clean gently with mild soap and water, drying immediately.
We recommend that you reapply Golden Care Teak Shield every six months to maintain resistance against stains and everyday wear. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, heaters, and moisture, and never place hot, cold, or wet items directly on the surface. If the timber starts to look dry or grey, a light treatment with Danish or Tung oil will restore its warmth and depth.
