Our Reclaimed Teak Collection is sustainably sourced from salvaged buildings and structures across Indonesia. Skilled artisans carefully select and restore this hardwood using traditional techniques before crafting it into one of our signature Kayu Studio furniture pieces. Each piece carries its own character, with natural variations such as knots, distinct grain patterns, colour differences, remnants of nail marks, or small surface cracks. Our teak and reclaimed teak pieces are pre-treated with a water based topcoat, which helps protect against spills while preserving the unique character of the wood.
To care for your teak furniture, always use coasters, placemats and pot holders, and wipe up any spills straight away. Dust regularly with a soft cloth and clean gently with mild soap and water, drying immediately. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, heaters, and moisture, and never place hot, cold, or wet items directly on the surface.
