The Sumela Antique Pot is a low-profile stoneware planter featuring an antique finish and decorative detailing around the rim. Its shallow shape and wide opening make it ideal for a variety of plantings, from sculptural olive trees to low-growing ferns that cascade naturally over the edge.
Aged in appearance, our antique finish stoneware carries the marks of its making — a rough, textured surface created by the unpredictable nature of a wood-fuelled dragon kiln. The result is a beautiful irregularity in every glaze, full of depth and natural character.
Part of our Traditional Kiln Fired Collection, made in Vietnam by artisans working with earth-derived materials, traditional kilns, and techniques refined over centuries. Each piece is finished and fired by hand, a process that produces natural variations in surface and tone, ensuring no two are ever identical.
Please note, this pot has a hole in the bottom for outdoor drainage. We recommend placing a catcher at the bottom for indoor use.

Product Care
For everyday maintenance, simply wipe your piece with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and dirt. For a deeper clean, use mild soap mixed with water, then rinse and dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive cloths, harsh chemicals, or solvents, as these can damage the surface. If using outdoors, place in a shaded area where possible, as prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause fading over time. To prevent scratches, avoid dragging the pot across rough surfaces and lift when repositioning. Please note, this piece is not watertight. We recommend placing a watertight vessel inside if using with fresh foliage or plants.
